Need A Muscle Building Diet

Let’s start with riding you of a delusion protein supplement is a must for muscle building. Or are you convinced that you need to pack in tons of protein supplements to help you build muscle. Can’t blame you, as when almost all magazines and even many bodybuilders say that you need those protein supplements to convert the fat into muscle. Don’t believe it, it’s not true.

The first myth in this whole argument is that there is no possible way that you can convert fat into muscle. Fat has to burned off. Sorry, there is no easy way out of this. And only when that is done can you build new muscle. So first off, you need to begin exercising with purpose - to burn fat.

What about protein powders and supplements that you can buy off the shelves of the stores. The label on the cans tell you that they are sourced from milk or eggs. So what’s better, the protein in its natural form or in the canned ones. Let me tell you, it is a lot healthier when it is naturally available.

Take eggs, for instance. Egg whites are high on protein content and is a must when building muscle or trying to lose weight and strength training. But don touch the egg yolks as they have a high fat content. You are allowed just one egg yolk as part of your breakfast, if you so desire.

Many reputed bodybuilders, history tells us, used to eat egg whites many times during a day. They would keep it with them always to satisfy the need for high quality protein. Eggs are cheaper and easily available. Eating eggs rather than buying the canned protein powder is a better option, when you compare their prices.

Chicken especially the breast portion is another great source of protein. This meat is low fat and protein packed. You can serve it grilled with just a citrus marinade. It is tasty and also goes to develop muscle. The economical thing to do is to pick up chicken breasts at the store during those sales. This is the way to stock up on this economical source of high protein. This is much better than the canned and dried supplement that is available.

Another protein provider is fish. Fish is not only easy to cook but also tasty and is considered the highest in protein.

Milk, as your only source of protein is not advisable even though many dry protein supplements are derived from milk. There is a high content of lactose in milk. Lactose is a form of sugar that does not help to burn fat or build muscle. It will only be a hindrance to those ripped muscles that you are trying to build. A small quantity of milk daily is fine but not as a primary source of protein.

Of course, figuring out what foods are rich in protein could take up some time. It would be easier to just rush into the supermarket and stock your cart with tins readymade protein supplement. But then, you have to realize that nutrition plays an important part in your workout. So you need to put in may be as much time in the kitchen as you would in the gym! Insisting on the right diet is important to achieve your goal.
